The foundations of Kaptan Underwater Services were laid in 1985 when our founder, İbrahim Atay, entered the underwater operations sector. After gaining extensive field experience and establishing his first venture, Mercan Dalgıç, in 1989, Atay temporarily shifted his focus to international projects.
In 1995, the company was restructured in Samsun under the brand Kaptan Underwater Services. Since then, we have solidified our position in the maritime industry through the manufacturing of medium-sized service vessels, boat building, and comprehensive underwater services. Beginning in 2001, we undertook major marine projects and diving organizations, expanding our operational reach to international waters by 2007.
Beyond technical expertise, İbrahim Atay has contributed to the industry’s leadership as a Board Member of the Chamber of Shipping (8th Division) and the Federation of Black Sea Associations. Since 2014, Kaptan Underwater Services has successfully executed critical projects across the Persian Gulf, India, Bangladesh, North Africa, Georgia, and Turkic Republics.
